N² – Shaping the future now

Plenty of ideas are in the room and after full two days of intense discussions and exchange the list of future tasks looks impressive. From July- 27th to 28th the board of N² – The Network of Networks, in which Max Planck PhDNet, Helmholtz Juniors and the Leibniz PhD Network join forces, met in Potsdam to set its future agenda. The Leibniz PhD Network was represented by our spokespersons Katarzyna Stoltmann and Jan-Lucas Schanze.

A major issue we want to achieve is a closer integration of the work of the three networks. A kick-off was already given by the survey groups of the three networks who are currently harmonizing the questionnaires of their PhD surveys to present comparable results for all three non-university research institutions in the next survey round. This will enable us to stand for common problems and challenges of doctoral researchers together. Also, you will soon be able to follow N² closer, be updated and explore how you could contribute – e.g. in the planning of our next joint events – on an own web-page. Joint event is also the keyword for a whole bunch of new tasks on the to-do-list. In the meeting the representatives of the networks dealt a lot with the next N² joint event after our successful Science Communication Conference in November 2017. For 2019, N² and its member networks envisage an event under the header „From basic research to application“ including also a career fair.

Stay tuned and shape the future with us.
